For vehicle travel I usually buy the 2 1/2 gallon square jugs and carry 4 of them in a vehicle I'm still working on a permanent storage system at home

The last hike I was on in the mountains there was a stream or spring every 100-150' along the entire trail. One of the springs had deep red iron water comming out but the rest was pure snow or glacier...
